We need a different type of President

We need a different type of President
by Robert G Parent

We need a different type of President to solve the economic mess we're in. Why don't we have a President who is a successful business person?

If we did have a President that is a successful business person, this country could actually make wise investment decisions.

Imagine if we ( The United States of America ) could make $8 Billion on a $2 Billion dollar investment.

Imagine if the National Debt actually decreases every year ( What a Concept ).

We are being imprisoned by debt. How effective can a country be when it is in debt to many or every country in the world?

I have a dream. That in 2010, we will have elected in office a Liberatarian/Moderate congress. And in 2012, we will have the first successful business person as President of the United States. And if he or she is a liberatarian, how much sweeter it will be.

More is Too Much

More is Too Much
by Robert G Parent

More money doesn't necessarily solve problems. More money could cause problems. Our ability to use our creativity, our innovation, our intuition is how we'll solve problems.

I had to use and develop these abilities in my life because many times I did not have a lot of money to get the "best" programs or gadgets. But, the things I create with inexpensive programs or gadgets are as good as those created with the most expensive programs or gadgets.

In education, we can use our creativity to come up with lesson plans that show our students the bigger picture. For example, I just watched a series on my local public television station, where teachers showed how they used art to help teach complicated concepts in subjects like math, history, science, and other subjects.

More doesn't mean better, more just means you/we need more energy to complete a simple task. Nature doesn't operate like this and we shouldn't either.

More also means more stress and more anxiety, we don't need this and these are abundant when we have more government. Also, this goes for mega-businesses, who need to comsume more, just to make a profit.

Our society has thrived on consuming more and more. What has that caused? This current global problem. Its not the fault of our elected officials because they are a product of this type of society.

We are at a point where we can learn a major lesson as a society as a whole. In every generation there is a test that is faced, maybe, this is the test this generation faces.

To survive this time, we have to think differently, to do things differently. If we don't think and act differently, we'll miss our opportunity for a major lesson as a whole society. A lesson that can unify this world. A lesson that will launch us into a new future.

Light in the Darkness by Robert G Parent

Light in the darkness
by Robert G Parent

I want to talk about the times we live in now, everyone is saying recession, tough economic time, job market low, housing markets, and stock markets woes. All people see is the darkness that is out there. Well maybe not all people. There are those in the financial business that understand cycles. Who say, "there is opportunity out there." I say their right.

I'm out of a job currently and have been looking for one in the past months. About three at the time of this writing. And you know, there are many jobs out there. There are companies still growing and need good people, which they have plenty to choose from. I have been interviewed for jobs in companies that could lead to management ( leadership roles ). Now, I've been thinking about this for some time now before my unemploynment, but didn't know how or have the opportunity to go after the leadership jobs. Looks like my next job will lead to leadership in one form or another. There is light in the darkness. Or maybe its best said, when you shine a light on your darkness ( your fears ), you see what is really there and also opportunity.

You can be at the very bottom, at least from your point of view in the metiphorical pit, the darkness, but, if you look around, shine a light on the darkness, you will see the opportunity out there. It can lead you out of capitivity, the captivity of our own fears, to a new land, a new place. Because its when you percieve yourself to be at your lowest, is when you can soar among the clouds. What it all boils down to is where do you want to put your attention, in the bucket of Crabs or soaring among the Eagles. The choice is each of ours.

Old Journals by Robert G Parent

Old Journals
by Robert G Parent

Have you ever looked back and read or listened to something you did in the past? Well, I do this every so often and, I usually get inspired to write something. It usually comes out pretty good, well at least I think so, because its like I started thinking on something, like a seed thought, and through my experiences from that moment to the current moment there has been growth and greater understanding about that thought.

This happens to each of us. If you think back, you should be able to see those instances for yourself. This is also proof that we "set" our future selves up in the life that we live. What we think about today, we will become tomorrow.

This is how I grow not only as a spiritual being but as a poet. My latest occurrence was when I wrote the poem "Preflection". That word came to me 16 years ago in 1992 in a dream. I wrote it down because of the dream I had. I wanted to understand about that word more. So as I was listening to a tape of my audio journal that dream and the word "Preflection" caught my attention again. Even though I had forgotten it on one level, my inner self ( higher mind ) didn't. I still wanted understanding of it. So, I wrote it down again, leaned back in my chair, and had the urge to write about it again. I did and the poem "Preflection" and this article came out of it.

If your currently looking for inspiration and can't seem to write anything, maybe, you should go back to old audio and/or written journals. This not only will get you out of a dry spell, but give your life a sense of continuity. And, if you still haven't started a written journal, what are you waiting for.
